Vicaroth 60

This deck is pretty simple really.

  • You have Aragorn and his many attachments. Dig though the deck with Galadriel and Horse-breeder to get the mounts for Aragorn (and the others). Get the bonuses from Elfhelm, which can be pretty great. Aragorn alone has the ability to get 6 Willpower, 4 Attack, 3 Defense and 8 Hit Points with all his attachments - he can also ready when questing, ready after defending with Armored Destrier... So he is really a boss!

  • Use Aragon's attachments to boost his stats with the new spheres and abilities. If you get lucky, get a load of HP with the artifacts and the Ring of Barahir.

  • Every Ally has an "Enters play" ability which makes Sneak Attack super useful, especially to get multiple effects with one character when they are returned to hand. The allies should keep you in the level playing field with threat, attachment seeking, recursion and support - plus extra questing and attacking/chumping when needed.

  • The scariest thing for this deck are treacheries and shadow effects that nuke the attachments or make Aragorn useless. To minimize this, Eleanor stands strong in order to try and stop encounter card effects that will shut down this deck. Of course she cannot stop everything, but that extra filter (some people call it "Ring" effect, as it is similar to Frodo's one ring effect in the first saga box) can water down some of the nasty affects. Also, if Eleanor has Steed of the Mark she can quest for 2 (or 3) and still hit a treachery card, otherwise attack for 1 or defend for 2 if needed.

  • For the shadow cards that nuke attachments, adding hasty stokes can never be a horrible idea. Armored Destrier might also hit a few of them as well if you get ganged up on. However, when I play in a 3 player game I tend to go with Dawn Take You All mostly due to the more potent effects. While you don't get to see the shadow cards beforehand, sometimes when everyone is swarmed, not having that added stress for your friends can be a live saver.

  • Lastly, the Silvan effects. I find that Silvan's have the best effects in the game. They are a mix of an event and an ally that can be used multiple times with great benefits. When I made this deck before I wanted to focus on the Dunedains but I found that even their effects weren't as potent and very situational. So, the Silvan took the cake. It is likely that Coreagorn will be defending making the frail Silvans live to see another day.

If you plan on going Solo and don't have a healer friend, Adding in 2 or 3 DĂșnedain Remedy would be amazing.
