With Thranduil being released it's now possible to build a deck around the Elves from the Woodland Realm. I have to say that this isn't a viable solo deck (this doesn't seem possible with the current card pool) but a combat focused multiplayer deck, which should be combined with something that can quest hard ( a thematic choice could be a dwarven or dale deck).

We don't have to use any Lorien themed cards, what makes this deck play different to play than usual Silvan decks. There is not that much of the typical ally bouncing and the focus shifts instead to our heroes. Both Argalad and Legolas can make use of our Weapons, Argalad helping with questing and dealing the extra damage that we might just need to kill stuff with Legolas.

Thranduil is our primary defender, once he has Elven Mail also for other players. We don't play cards to boost his defense but with the extra hit points and healing from Lembas and Silvan Tracker he can become pretty tanky, even more if you can get the Song of Wisdom + A Burning Brand combo. Speaking about Song of Wisdom, I originally included it mainly for the Resource smoothing. But during my playthroughs I realized that that Thranduils ability is normally enough to get this expensive allies into play, so maybe you can leave these cards out if you are not to worried about shadow effects.

One of the hard choices in this deck is on who you want to make The Elvenking. Use Argalads attack for the ability and a ranged attack? Get additional knockouts with Legolas and place extra progress? Or simply get more defenses with Thranduil? These are all decent options and your decision should be depending on the quest, your board state and your partner decks.

This deck is definetly not on the same powerlevel that the Silvans from Lorien have and for me not as much fun like the steady bouncing of allies (which is one of my favourite mechanics in the game). But if you want a different experience or something thematic in the Hobbit-era, you might give it a try.
