Thanee 144

Thanee has a newer deck inspired by this one: Tactics Éowyn

Éowyn is just a placeholder for Tactics Éowyn here!

Essentially, it combines the questing power of Spirit with the fighting prowess of Tactics. Éowyn's ability can be handy early on to get rid of a nasty enemy, or later, depending on the scenario. With a low starting Threat of 18 (after the reduction during setup) the deck can play Secrecy cards, and has Recourceful and the Celduin Traveler to make use of that. There is also plenty of Threat reduction, but mostly those are there to cover the costs of Frodo and Gandalf.

Frodo will be the main defender. Early on the Derndingle Warriors can help out, and there is Feint for those times, but later he should be fine with some Ring Mails and Unexpected Courage. Éowyn with Herugrim and possibly a Dagger, and Glorfindel with Blade/Dagger should do plenty damage. And then there are Gandalf and Treebeard, of course.

Feint is especially nice when the Silver Lamp is out, since you can then see the Shadow cards and use Feint to prevent some nasty effect from happening.

It's 60 cards currently, but has quite a bit of card draw.

The deck should work well for solo play, but also for multiplayer games.

I'm curious, why not toss in a Snowmane or two in to sub out the Steed of the Mark or one of the Unexpected Courage? It's a resource cheaper than the later, and hasn't the recurring cost of the former.

I know it might seem odd, not to use Snowmane, but the reason is "Restricted".

The Steed isn't restricted, so Éowyn can still get a Dagger of Westernesse in addition to Herugrim.

I don't think the cost for the Steed is too big, once you have Resourceful on her. It also has the slight benefit of working independent of quest success, but that's a minor issue, usually.

I'll see how it works out. If the Dagger seems unnecessary, or the resource management does not work out as I think it will, then I might actually change that.
