I love pipe decks.
I think threat management are amongst the most powerful effects in the game, and Hobbit pipes let you also draw while you keep your threat low. But I don't feel comfortable with hobbit decks. They are too weak for my play style, exposing you to a quick loss if a direct damage treachery shows up unexpectedly.
That's why I think that some other pipe-smokers will be very helpful for a pipe deck, Gandalf, and dwarfs can smoke with their respective pipes.
ALso... as Dwarf Pipe helps you to recycle cards discarded from the top of your deck... I thought that Thorin Stonehelm would be a nice hero to put into the deck.
I've put all pieces together, and that's the result. The deck is quite fun to play, though it is far from being a tier deck. As always, it is far from being perfect, and it can, for sure be improved.

Jan 22, 2019Glad to read that! The "mining" theme of dwarfs is quite fun to play, but I think that still needs a little more to be viable. We have lots of cards to discard from the top of the deck, but just two cards that benefit from being discarded (Ered Luin Miner and Hidden Cache) Thror's ring from Mount Gundabad will be an interesting card to add to the deck. Playing with Gandalf and Wizard Pipe, all this "discard the top card from you deck" stuff is always a safe bet. |
Good support deck. I tried solo and while it did great with threat and draw, my combat wasn't strong enough. Fun to play though.
