This was my player deck for the Con of Rings competitive tournament, paired with Igloo's https://ringsdb.com/decklist/view/13335/caldaracon-3.0. Since there isn't a better place to post it, I put my encounter design at the bottom of this entry.

We went 4-1, coming out as the Runner-Up to Chad and Joe, they finished the quest one round ahead of us. It was an excellent match and I was very impressed with the capabilities of their player decks.

The intent of this deck was to provide protection to Igloo's Caldara deck as it ramped up. Essentially, be the Don't-Lose deck while he had the Win deck. If I was to compete again, I would make some changes to enable this deck to take more risks early on so that we could progress stages faster.

While I enjoyed this twist to the classic LOTR LCG format, the matches were far more tense and mentally draining. But I am glad the event finished on a high note (check the COTR facebook page for the last few minutes).

My encounter design utilized 3 of each quest kit and focused on getting 0-cost enemies and locations into play quickly so the deck had a high concentration of 1-cost cards. I also opted for cards that gave decisions to the "opposing team" to allow us to force worst-case situations onto the players.

Errata: This was the actual deck played in the tournament, correcting a a few minor swaps from the previous post. Gandalf is a flexible problem solver and works with Elf-stone. AS I walls found myself sitting resources, I think The White Council would have been a very interesting inclusion for this format were its flexibility would have allowed more aggressive risk taking.
