What is Treebeard in there for? His by-himself-epicness?

@Truck ohh, yes! I do wonder why you question Treebeard but not Wilyador. Anyhow, both are good for the combat phase.

@TruckTreebeard is good, ready himself and cost 4, you generate 4 resources per turn, in scenarios that doesn't start hard you can play him turn 1. He can pay for quickbeam and can pay for Wilyador too. Wilyador here is good, cost 1, and you can usually pay 1 per turn with a lot of cheap cards. Or in emergency situation is a chump blocker for 1 resource without sphere match.

@Truck``@GreenWizard, Wilyador says "Forced: At the end of the round, discard Wilyador unless the players as a group spend 1 resource." Note the lack of "from a hero's pool." You are still "spending a resource" if you spend 1 resource from Treebeard to pay this cost. Personally, I'd say Treebeard's resources are better spent readying himself, but it is still, legally speaking, valid to use him to pay for Wilyador.

@AlasForCelebornI agree, Treebeard's resource best use is for readying himself, but sometimes i need both Wilyador on the board and heroes resources to play cards, so it's an option to consider

why Resourceful? you will never reach secrecy and it takes 4 rounds that it pays for itself.

there are other neutral cards to be good:

• Boots from Erebor
• Envoy of Pelargir
• Steward of Orthanc
• The White Council

in addition, i would replace 1 Gaffer Gamgee with Gléowine

but else, nice deck ;)

I do use Resourceful in my Hobbit/BoF deck, too. So, maybe I can explain why. This deck also does have Gaffer Gamgee. That is an ally which you might have to play again and again each round. So, you need lots of Lore resources.

@doomguardyeah, as Flrbb says, Gaffer is you best defense strategy. You can find by yourself, or grab with raise the shire from the deck. When is on the field, you need 2 Lore resources every turn. So you can put Red Book and Resourceful on Pippin, of you can use a good harvest in emergency situation. You can pay the full cost of 4, it's not a deck full of expensive carda that need a boost on the start.

starting with thread of 27 i doubt that he is the best defense for long, and even with 2 in the deck, you perhaps do not see him.

and if you say you have shirefolk... then its a 3-card combination....

at least i understand the motivation, but see it not very good playable.

Nah, errand-rider fix resources for just one turn, and never repays himself. You need consistend resource fix. You have 2 Gaffer and 2 Gaffer tutors. It's ok for me. And the thread is 27, but it's like 23 with Pippin and 4 Hobbits heroes. And i have shirefolk, yes, but also Gandalf and Elveneses to low threat. And yo don't need Gaffer all the time, but it's too strong to not to use it

Errand-rider is usable every turn, red its text ;)

@doomguardyou're right, misreaded it. I'll try to swich 1 resourceful with 1 errand rider and give it a try, then I'll decide

another, perhaps better option, than resourceful, is Sword-thain you have much unique allies, and you not only get +1 resource you have another hero.
