Synopsis

A Noldor deck that specializes in questing and location control.

Design

This deck was designed to take on the brunt of questing in The Grey Havens and Dream-Chaser quests. Conveniently, the Noldor archetype also feeds into a greater location-management strategy.

Strategy

  • Thanks to Galdor's response, you shouldn't need to mulligan except under extreme circumstances. Remember: even with a bad draw, Círdan's ability can quickly get you what you need. Ideally, you want to see Silver Harp, an ally, and a location-management card in your starting hand, and a Noldor toy primed in your discard pile.
  • With 9 available right from the start, you can punch through quest stages with tremendous tempo.
  • Between The Evening Stars, Strider's Paths, Explorer's Almanacs, and Mirkwood Explorers, you shouldn't have any trouble avoiding nasty locations.
  • If you are thinking that Minas Tirith Lampwright and Henamarth Riversong don't quite belong, then you are right! I included them because they are cheap sailors, which are becoming increasingly important in the Dream-Chaser cycle.
  • The wonderful thing about this deck is that it takes the guesswork out of questing. Once Círdan the Shipwright has Narya and Light of Valinor, you'll be able to yolo-quest knowing that you can ready two defenders in an emergency. Don't have the setup? Don't worry: Elwing's Flight can accomplish the same thing.
  • If you can get two Silver Harps out, then this deck really sings: You'll effectively get a free draw and a free resource every turn.
