First Note: Swap out Mirror of Galadriel for Strider.

  • Mulligan for Great Yew Bow.
  • Strider goes on Bard together with any attack boost possible.
  • Be careful with multiplayer: You have to have another fitting deck with low starting threat to let that deck be viable in multiplayer.
  • Resourceful goes on Bard as well. Once you get Fire running, he gets awesome.

Did you ever consider adding a few copies of Vanish from Sight into your Strider decks? Not only will they synergize with all your secrecy cards, but you can use it in the combat phase to pump your Dagger of Westernesses up if your threat starts to climb.

How useful do the Leaf Brooches wind up being in this deck? Looking at it, I'd assume the secrecy discount wouldn't be too consistent-- Secret Vigil can take a bit of setup, Gandalf is pretty expensive, and otherwise you're out of it by turn 2. And all the events in the deck combined only come out to 6 total resources, anyway.

@Some Sort Nope, Eowyn reduces your starting threat so you are normally out of Secrecy by turn 5 if nothing happens (first turn 17, second turn 18, third turn 19, fourth turn 20).

I don't think that the card is extremely essential, but resource generation is the greatest problem of the deck and I generelly advise you to put the Brooch only out there if you have an event that costs 1. Otherwise (which is unlikely) it will be a dead card in your hand for a bit, sure, but the chances of getting an event that costs 1 at some point in the game are pretty high. But that being said, you could swap it out for sth else of course.

@webslinger9 Once again, your starting threat will be 17 so you should stay at least a couple of rounds in secrecy which would make Vanish from Sight unnecessary. But in general I agree, the card is often great for Strider decks.

@Flrbb You are totally right, I overlooked that. I have another deck where I usually run Steward on Bard and the Fire afterwards. I probably got used to playing it this way a bit too much :) . I would swap it with the upcoming Battle-Fury card which would then also provide more targets for the Leaf Brooch. Thanks for pointing it out!
