This is the deck I used in my Single Core Series to defeat: Encounter at Amon Din.

This is one of the easiest quests in the game, so I am going to 'handicap' myself with Pippin. He is really hard to build a deck around, especially progression style. You have to have all Hobbit heroes for his ability to trigger. The other 2 options currently available are Frodo Baggins and Bilbo Baggins. The problem is that these other two hobbits also help with defense. Frodo can take damage as threat, and Bilbo's best stat is his , and he is in sphere for A Burning Brand. So, using Pippin's ability to shove an enemy back into the Staging Area, just to engage it next round is a non-bo.

Here is what I decided to do. If I can play Ranger Spikes and/or Ithilien Pit with an enemy already in the staging area, then if I reveal another enemy it gets trapped. If I don't reveal an enemy I can engage the one that was there, use Pippin's ability, and then it is trapped.

Once trapped it will either start taking damage from the pit, or be stuck with -2.

To help get this combo to work I have 3x Shadow of the Past to put enemies or to NOT put enemies as the next card revealed. This card also helps Small Target. If I can guarantee the top card of the encounter deck has a shadow effect, then I know Small Target will trigger. Also, Expecting Mischief could be played if I know an enemy is coming.

The allies are here to help quest, Zigil Miner/Imladris Stargazer are the resource engine. For this quest Mirkwood Runner can defeat one of the bigger orcs.

This deck and quest give you a chance to play some cards that normally sit in your storage. This deck will most likely lose against any quest with more difficulty.

Happy Questing!

This guy has the audacity to play Pippin! Love it. Thanks for the series Chad!
