Master of Lore 894

This is a deck that I built back in 2013 to include all of the low-cost power cards available up to The Steward's Fear. I've updated it once with a couple allies from Celebrimbor's Secret and the side quest from The Lost Realm, but otherwise it remains unchanged.

The basic goal of this deck is to keep your head above water with cheap attachments and effects while steadily making a bit of progress on the quest each turn. Except for a couple allies, everything in deck costs 1 resource or plays for free. An earlier version used Gandalf, but he's absent here.

Generally speaking, Denethor is your main defender with A Burning Brand and Gondorian Shield. Legolas is on the attack with his ubiquitous Rivendell Blades and a handful of Tactics events. Glorfindel quests while basking in the Light of Valinor and riding his trusty steed Asfaloth.

There are really no fancy combos or elaborate set-ups here. This is just a well-rounded deck with a lot of cheap cards. When I was first starting out in the game, I used this deck to play most quests (dropping a card here or there depending on the scenario) and had a great time!

I'm not sure how successful it would be against some of the modern quests, but if you are just getting started in the game, have a limited card pool, or want a trip down memory lane, pack this "Bag of Cheap Tricks" for the road. Happy questing!

It's nice to see decks that newer players can actually build.

I like this one. You have only a few unique cards. The only thing is, that I'm a bid bored from Spirit Glorfindel.
