We heard of the horns in the hills ringing,
the swords shining in the South-kingdom,
Steeds went striding to the Stoningland
as wind in the morning. War was kindled.

There Théoden fell, Thengling mighty,
to his golden halls and green pastures
in the Northern fields never returning,
high lord of the host. Harding and Guthláf,
Dúnhere and Déorwine, doughty Grimbold,
Herefara and Herubrand, Horn and Fastred,
fought and fell there in a far country:

In the Mounds of Mundburg under mould they lie
with their league-fellows, lords of Gondor.

Riders of Rohan meets ALeP

The basic premise: Tweak and improve the Riders of Rohan Starter deck using only cards from the ALeP Children of Eorl deluxe expansion.

I also wanted to stay close to the original gameplan (so no Dunhere/Fastred shenanigans or Thengel) and stick to the Rohan theme.

Turns out that this starter deck just needs a few extra cards and it can really showcase the might of Rohan!

Herubrand is a great alternative for the overused Éowyn and works better than the original Hirgon.

He's your secondary quester and will contribute some attack once you get a Light-footed Steed (+ maybe a War Axe) on him.
Rarely useful, but neat: His Response ability also works with direct damage from Westfold Lancer, Gandalf or Worthy of Remembrance!

Light-footed Steed is the ideal cheap Rohan mount that Steed of the Mark always should've been. Gets the job done without being overpowered and has great synergy with the Rohan trait.

Thanks to Deeping Defender we finally have access to a decent defender; Morwen Steelsheen covers emergency healing and threat management.

The new Need Brooks No Delay is a very strong combination of card fetching and resource acceleration. It can grab that crucial Horn of the Mark or an important ally.

Swap War Axe for The Red Arrow if more combat power is required.

Thanks a lot for making this deck (and deck guide)! :) Cheers mate!

i think Éomer does synergies more with Herubrand and could make the direct damage more efficient.

adding leadership to the spheres gives also more options and Need Brooks No Delay only needs one tactichero e.g. Dúnedain Warning Valiant Sword Shining Shield and if going unthematic even the Steward of Gondor.

also availaible Sneak Attack not only good for Gandalf also good with Westfold Lancer or Éomund

Bit late with my reply, but thanks for the feedback and kind words @Zangaxx and @doomguard!

Regarding Éomer: You can certainly make a fun deck with that combo (like this one by RegisF for example) but he's not a "valid" choice for this one :D
As mentioned my goal here was to experiment with a (self-)restricted card pool (Core+Eorl+RoH deck) and stay close-ish to the original starter deck.
