Mustardman 557

Mustardman has a newer deck inspired by this one: Silvan: Pure Series #2

Pure Series:

This is a series of about 10 decks that I made that don’t share any cards with each other. Meaning I can only use Steward of Gondor in one of my 10 decks. This forces me to use different methods of card draw and resource generation.

I have every expansion, but only 1 core set :(

I do include different cards of the same unique character in different decks. (Ex. Haldir of Lórien hero in my Scout deck and Haldir of Lórien ally in my Silvan deck.)

Silvan Deck:

Silvan decks usually focus on popping allies in and out of play, triggering their "enter play" effects.

Events:

In order to trigger a Silvan ally’s ability, I’ve included 3 events that let you return a Silvan ally to your hand (The Tree People, Feigned Voices, and Island Amid Perils)

The Silvan allies that I would recommend to use their ability on are Galadhrim Weaver (low cost), Galadhrim Minstrel (effect), Naith Guide (effect), and Orophin (effect)

The Tree People is probably the best out of the three potentially letting you exchange a 1 costing ally for a 3 costing ally. And that 1 costing ally goes into your hand instead of your discard pile!

Feigned Voices helps with defense, and Island Amid Perils is there to give you more options.

Defense:

Defense is weak in this deck since our heroes highest defense value is 2. To make matters worse our allies highest defense value is 2 also.

Therefore Defender of the Naith is essential. The first turn he comes into play his defense is 3 from Celeborn and can be boosted by Cloak of Lórien since Cloak of Lórien can be attached to any Silvan character.

Feigned Voices can be used as a 0 costing Feint to cancel a boss’s attack + lets you get an ally back in your hand.

Attack:

Mirkwood Runner has a nice attack skipping the enemies defense if he is attacking alone. Celeborn boosts his attack to 3 the first round, and if combined with Fair and Perilous he can have an attack of 5! A back up for Fair and Perilous is Glorfindel, giving him an attack of 6.

With the highest defense of 3 and highest attack of 6, this deck is not very good at taking on huge bosses. It is more of a questing deck.

Dúnedain Mark is for Argalad to help with his ability or help him attack.

Attachments:

Glorfindel is in this deck so both Asfaloth and Light of Valinor are an auto-include. O Lórien! is a key card in this deck, because it helps get Silvan allies out. Lembas can be used to either heal or ready, whichever one is needed.

Card Draw:

Their is no card draw in this deck, but it isn’t a huge problem because you are going to be busy spending your resources on Silvan allies. Galadhrim Minstrel and Orophin help give you more cards.

Resources:

O Lórien! really helps your resources in this tri-sphere deck. It is the only resource generation which is why it is super important to get it in your opening hand.

Starting Threat:

Your starting threat is pretty low because of Glorfindel and should help you avoid enemies or bosses at the start of the game.

Opening Hand:

In your opening hand you really want to see

1st: O Lórien!

2nd: Galadhrim Minstrel

3rd: Any Silvan Event
