Rajam 118

A support combat deck. I wanted to build something around Tactics Prince Imrahil. Thinking out-loud how the building process went:

  • Prince Imrahil -> lots of strong allies
  • lots of strong allies -> Works with Elrond + Vilya
  • (Elrond also helps in paying for allies from multiple spheres)
  • Resources needed. Obvious answer is Denethor + Steward
  • A Very Good Tale fits nicely here. Ideal situation: Play a strong ally turn 1 (either by paying its cost or with the help of Vilya), and bring a 2nd ally during combat phase with Imrahil. Then, use A Very Good Tale and flood the board with strong allies!

Imrahil's ability and Blind Vilya's nature means this is a high-risk-high-return deck. The ratio gets accentuates by A Very Good Tale. When it pays off, the return is really high though. Mulligan for Vilya and A Very Good Tale. Steward is obviously also a good card to have during setup, yet the former two are more valuable. Card-draw may not be insane, yet, with Vilya and Imrahil you are still playing 2 strong allies per turn, and the overall pace is pretty good. Enjoy!
