Damrod, with the favor of Lady Arwen and her master craftsmen, was tasked with helping the hobbits make their way through deep and dreary forests. Relying at first on his traps and cunning, Damrod and his charges will be relieved as well as suprised to be rescued by the Ents, right as the servants og Sauron closed in on the unlikely party of heroes.

So yeah, I play this deck solo to surprisingly good results. I have won multiple times against The Weather Hills and even won against Deadmen's Dike at first try. The only true weakness of this deck are scenarios that require an aggressive start or those that won't give you the time needed to trap and manipulate the enemies, such as Intruders in Chetwood.

It takes some time to get the deck going but Damrod will keep the Hobbits safe for the few first crucial rounds. Entangling Nets played at 0 cost, is the hidden star of the deck. Also you can engage enemies, draw with Pippin's response, defend with Frodo's response, then trap them at reduce cost and draw one more card with Damrod and his Forest Snare.

Eventually there is plenty of card draw to fuel Protector of Lórien for both questing and defending with Fast Hitch, and you may play Will of the West to keep going until the very late game. Arwen Undómiel can also boost his defence to a decent 3 until you play Protector of Lorien. The Galadhrim's Greeting played at cost of 1 will keep your threat low. Please note however that this is by no means a secrecy deck; Frodo is meant to use his response multiple times in a game and you will often find yourself ending games at well over 40 threat.

This is a slow deck to set up, as you will depend on powerful ent allies to boost your attack. Don't worry though; Treebeard and Quickbeam are relatively cheap and can attack for a combined strength of 7, or 9 with Damrod. A number of unique characters, all with varied and useful abilities, will help you buy the time needed to set up the ents.

Despite having no resource acceleration, the combination of Good Meal, Damrod's discounts and Treebeard's resource acceleration will keep you afloat well enough.

Cards you want to see in your opening hand: A trap or two, Master of the Forge or Treebeard. There is enough card draw here however that it doesn't matter as much as long as you get at least 1 trap.

This deck can also fit in multiplayer with ease.
