Mormegil 3062

Here is a fun deck that features everbody's favourite FFG-created Dunedain as an absolute rockstar. The deck is viable for solo and multiplayer. I tested it solo against Escape from Umbar and Helm's Deep. The deck won both times with relative ease.

Strategy:

The deck mostly plays itself and is straight-forward while also being fun. You don't need to be an expert at the game to play it and the deck is realtively versatile which allows you to tackle a variety of vastly different quests.

You should mulligan for Armored Destrier. The Destrier and the stat-boosting signals go on Amarthiúl to create a combat-powerhouse (the Destrier itself will make him a 4, 4 hero with Elfhelm) that can easily take on one enemy per turn. Other good options for your starting hand are Galadriel, Steward (plus a few allies to go along with it) or ye good old Sneak Attack-Gandalf combo.

Steward of Gondoris of course extremely helpful but not essential for the deck. If you play multiplayer (or if you try not to play with Steward) you can take it out. The deck will not fall apart and will still work just fine, but its power will of course be diminished.

Cards I would definitely include in multiplayer are Dúnedain Signal and Errand-rider.

Overall, a fun, versatile and easy deck to play that showcases the power of the Amarthiúl + Armored Destrier + Elfhelm combo.

Enjoy!!

What role does Elfhelm usually fill?

Well he boosts Marty's stats for a start which is already great. He also has a very even statline; That can be seen as a weakness but I mainly see it as a boost to versatility. It's very nice in solo to adapt his use to your need as you see fit with his versatile statline. He is also a very fine target for the second Destrier.

I see why he is a good hero in this deck, I just meant what do you usually use him for? Questing, attacking, or defending?

Questing most of the times, but there can be exceptions of course

This is a brilliant combo! I’m going to give this a try.

I saw your deck on the front page and thought you'd made it just for me :) I'm looking forward to trying it out, but I need to get a few more packs first.

I got to play a few games with it and spotlight the deck on my blog: lotrdecktest.wordpress.com

I had a good time with it and beat some good quests with it including Escape from Umbar and Desert Crossing! Nice work.
