A thematic Gondor deck, built around Hirgon and The Red Arrow. The one concession to history is the presence of Boromir. We can add this to the list of "what if" decks, as it represents who Denethor might have sent to meet the Rohirrim, if his oldest son had survived the journey back to Gondor. Boromir works particularly well with Hirgon, as your Gondor allies can enter play with +2 , at the low cost of 1 threat and leaving an extra resource on Boromir. With far fewer cards to pay for, and resource acceleration to go along with your cost reduction for , it should be possible to keep Boromir's ability working.

In the early game, quest with everyone except Boromir to get allies into play as quickly as possible. Look for something that helps with questing in your opening hand. The eponymous Red Arrow, Visionary Leadership, and Faramir all do the trick. Steward of Gondor attach to Boromir, if you want to be thematic, otherwise one of the Tactics heroes. Once you get a willpower boost and a few allies in play, you should not have problems questing.

There is only 1 copy of Gondorian Shield because Boromir is intended more for attack than defense. Ideally, Déorwine will don Raiment of War and thanks to his built in shadow cancellation he is mostly invincible. If there is some enemy that can overcome 4 defense 5 hit points without a shadow effect, don't hesitate to throw a Squire of the Citadel at them. Everyone has a destiny to fulfill, his is just more fatalistic than most. It's a fun deck which turns the typical strategy on its head. This time the heroes enable powerful allies, rather than hogging all of the attention.
