This is a secrecy deck using cards up to Shadow and Flame. It works pretty well playing solo and I was able to beat all the quests of the Mirkwood and Dwarrowdelf cycles at the first or the second attemp (except for Escape from Dol Guldur).

The deck is based upon the extrem control of the game flow, thanks to the scying ability of many cards and to the secrecy mechanism, that allows to play some powerful expensive cards and to choose when engage enemy. Location control is another key quality of the deck.

Heroes

Glorfindel is a mandatory choice for a secrecy deck due to his low starting threath level and great stats: with Light of Valinor he can quest and attack. Denethor is another easy choice: great defender (with A Burning Brand and Arwen Undómiel is practically unbeatable), scrying ability, low threath. Finally Frodo Baggins is a good quester and his ability is very useful if we are in trouble with enemies.

First Hand

The deck is pretty solid and it is not necessary to mulligan often. Anyway, the best cards for first hand are Light of Valinor, Resourceful and something to draw cards, specially Gléowine.

Game tactics

Since your starting is 20, you can immediately play some secrecy cards like Resourceful (the first goes on Denethor, in order to play the expensive allies) or Risk Some Light. Then all you have to do is scrying as much you can, using Denethor (attach on him Unexpected Courage) and Henamarth Riversong and reduce the as much as you can, giving the time to play cards (extra draw with Ancient Mathom and Daeron's Runes). Asfaloth and Northern Tracker are very useful for location control, while Arwen Undómiel gives some extra .

Combat

Thus combat is not the main feature of the deck, it is possible to defeat also strong enemy. Use Out of Sight (Good Meal + <20 = 0 resources) to avoid combat and then attack with multiple characters. Northern Tracker, Gildor Inglorion, Haldir of Lórien are versatile allies that could give extra , and . And Gandalf? It is better to have him in a late stage of the game, and mainly to make some direct damage on stronger enemies.

I really love using this deck and shelling under the nose of orcs and spiders, with Asfaloth galloping around Mirkwood and under and over the Misty Mountains. Play while listening https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HLrpb8Z--fs. Enjoy!
