'I am not going to tell you my deck's strategy, not yet at any rate.'

'For one thing it would take a long while: my deck's strategy is growing all the time, and I've tweaked it a very long, long time; so my deck's strategy is like a story. Real deck's tell you the story of things they belong to in my language, in the Old Entish as you might say. It is a lovely language, but it takes a very long time saying anything in it, because we do not say anything in it, unless it is worth taking a long time to say, and to listen to.'

Ok, honestly I have not tweaked this for a very long, long time. I was hoping the community could help with that... and I can explain the decks strategy in a few lines.

  • Buff up your heroes with hit points and stats (via Treebeard's ability and DĂșnedain Warning)

  • Heal em up; Rinse and Repeat!

  • Meanwhile, cheese out huge and/or useful Allies with A Very Good Tale (Keeping in mind that Galadriel's ability cannot be used if she's dicarded by A Very Good Tale).

This is an untested iteration of a very cool (imo) deck that I built based around Erkenbrand and Treebeard's similar text; the key phrase being: Deal 1 damage to [Hero] to (do something awesome).

Mirlonde gives you access to Lembas which is the best Hero-Treebeard-card besides Ent Draught, and Erkenbrand gives you access to my favorite card in the whole game: A Very Good Tale, while making use of all of the healing we're packing.

The single card that made me want to revisit the idea of 'ErkenBeard' was actually Anchor Watch. Unless you're running trait-specific decks, or Spirit decks, consistent readying is hard to come by. Cram and Lembas are great, but being able to utilize Erkenbrand's ability more than once a turn is imperative to making this deck functional. Anchor watch allows us to do just that.

Another cool include is The Long Defeat. I've been eyeballing this card, and this seems like a great fit for it.

SIDEBOARD:

-Erebor Hammersmith: If you feel like you need more Cram/Lembas recursion then include Erebor Hammersmith. He's also great to include if you have a friend sporting Heroes Galadriel, Elrond, Erestor, or Gildor Inglorion.

-The Day's Rising: Steward replacement, sorta, if necessary.

-Tighten Our Belts: Same as above. I've found that Tighten Our Belts works great with A Very Good Tale because A Very Good Tale costs 0.

Another Sideboard card mayyyy be Tome of Atanatar in order to repeat Anchor Watch... but that could get pricey. Is there another way to recur events in Leadership or Lore?
