Hey everyone,

Chris here with a new take on the Aragorn Doomed archetype. Arwen Undómiel, Elven-light, and Steward of Orthanc are going to draw us a boatload of cards.

Then we'll play as many Legacy of Númenor and Deep Knowledge as we can, and drop our threat back down to its starting value. Which will probably be a swing of about 20 points of threat, if you're doing everything correctly.

Strategy:

The main thing you're looking for in your opening hand is Elven-light. It's the safest thing to discard for resources, and it gets you card draw as an upside!

Our attachments are mostly intended for Aragorn. Sword that was Broken and Celebrían's Stone add a good chunk of willpower to the whole board, and Steed of the North lets Aragorn quest and then ready before combat. Roheryn, Ring of Barahir, and Magic Ring are mostly for fun, but it's nice to end up with a quad-sphere Aragorn who can trample over enemies that you optionally engage. Attack resolution does have an action window after declaring the attack, so you can use Tale of Tinúviel to boost up this preemptive strike.

Light of Valinor is for Arwen, of course. But if you have Tale of Tinúviel in hand before that, it can be worth holding her back to keep the option open.

And it's worth mentioning the recursion elements for Tale of Tinuviel. Dwarven Tomb pulls them back out of the discard pile directly. And Galadhrim Weaver will shuffle them back into the deck. Ideally you can wait for that until you've drawn most of the deck, but the deck has a ton of draw power, so it's not that big of a deal.

Video Thoughts:

People were talking about Foundations of Stone recently, and I do love that quest. So that's what we're doing this week, and you can check it out on youtube.

And the quest gets a little bit stomped. Starting with Steward of Orthanc and Elven-light in your opening hand lets you get the draw engine rolling very quickly.

Things were even going so well that I forgot about the Sword that was Broken willpower boost for a few rounds. And that Cave Torch only pulls enemies out of the encounter deck... Oops.

The quest does its best to fight back, leading to some amusing final rounds, but it's not enough.

Thanks for watching!
