This is a solo build for use against Siege of Cair Andros. I've had about a 80% win ratio with it. Boromir is excellent in Heirs of Numenor, even in his post-nerf semi-retirement and Beregond is a great partner for him. Not only does he manage Boromir's threat increases, but he provides access to some great Spirit support cards like Ancient Mathom, A Test of Will and Unexpected Courage.

Opening Hand

Look for some Siege quest support in your opening hand. A Winged Guardian, Defender of Rammas or Gondorian Shield (or two) will do nicely. Hands Upon the Bow and a weapon for Legolas is a nice combo to see early as well although most of the enemies are pretty tough and can't be knocked out by Legolas until he gets a couple weapons on him.

Basic Play

Travel to the The Banks right away and clear it right away or you'll lose. This deck isn't set up for questing and you'll stall out the Reinforcing the Banks stage 2.

Put your first Gondorian Shield on Boromir and quest with both him and Beregond counting Boromir to defend that first enemy. If an enemy comes off the encounter deck, ready Boromir during the Quest (or travel) phase so you can ready him again during the combat phase. That way he can quest, defend and attack. Hold A Test of Will for Orc Assault or Master's Malice if it will kill Beregond.

Build up your questing numbers with Eagles and the Defender of Rammas and get through the quest as fast as you can. Cancel any shadow effect that deals more shadow cards because those chains can spiral out of control really fast and even the smallest enemy can kill a 6 Beregond.

Have fun! You should be able to defeat Cair Andros most of the time with this but that encounter deck has the ability to destroy any deck if it pulls a mean combo on you!

Cool deck! Somehow when I go this heavy on attack I always lose the first location, and stall out on willpower questing. I wonder if it would work with more robust allies, like the new Dale warrior and bow? Thanks for the write up!

@MelkataThanks! Yeah, creating a deck that can siege first stage then quest with willpower immediately is a pain. This deck will fail if you lost that first location (which can happen). After playing a few times I found Hands Upon the Bow fairly useless so I've swapped it out for Behind Strong Walls.

Makes sense. Hands upon the bow would probably be a lot better in multiplayer. Fun to play with though. I might see if a monotactics could work. I didn’t think so, but you’ve made it pretty far. Just need to deal with those pesky treacheries.
