Comments and suggestions are much appreciated—I'm here to learn.

The first two times I played Escape from Dol Guldur, Caught in a Web was a big problem for me, so I decided to modify my Spirit/Lore Core Set Deck to include more Miner of the Iron Hills cards. I decided to use this update as an opportunity to try out some Heroes I hadn't played with yet.

Changes

Built For: Escape from Dol Guldur

Approach

Limitations: Core Set only

Heroes: Eleanor is the centerpiece of this defense-ready deck because of her ability to cancel "when revealed" effects of a treachery card. Dúnhere's high fits with the defense-ready theme. Since neither of these Heroes will be much help when questing, I chose Glorfindel as the third Hero because of his high and 5 hit points.

Allies: I selected Allies I thought would be most useful without giving much thought to their cost. Gandalf is always important, Northern Tracker is really helpful when lots of Location cards are in the Encounter deck, and Miner of the Iron Hills will be useful if Caught in a Web is drawn.

Attachments: Forest Snare can be helpful when dealing with the powerful Enemies and is a great choice for this deck since it's a Attachment, and two Heroes are earning resources.

Events: A Test of Will and Hasty Stroke are inexpensive ways to cancel the effects of cards coming off the Encounter deck. Several of the Events are potentially very useful, including Lore of Imladris and Lórien's Wealth.

Played Against: Escape from Dol Guldur on 2018-09-15, 2018-09-16, 2018-09-21, and 2018-09-23, losing the first three games and winning the last one (follow links for details). I paired the deck with Leadership/Tactics Core Set Deck.
