Men and Elves

Description

The Aragorn Deck:

Aragorn gets a Dagger of Westernesse, a Rohan Warhorse, the Steward of Gondor and eventually a Song of Travel (the Song may go to Erestor first).

Beorn gets a free meal if he manage to help defending until Beregond got his tools. The Bear usually takes a couple of small/medium hits or one giant one but after that Beregond should have things more or less under control.

Beregond gets a Gondorian Shield, a Silver Lamp, a Song of Wisdom (the Song may go to Arwen Undómiel or Círdan the Shipwright first), A Burning Brand and all Unexpected Courage he may get his hands on.

Since there are three copies of plenty of important cards that will only be used once, I added Trollshaw Scout to make good use of these dead cards. The deck usually got a couple of dead cards by round two or three and the Trollshaw Scout is a great way to get early boardcontrol by helping out with clearing the board of enemies. Remember that Aragorn reduce the Defence of all enemies engaged with his deck by 1, so as long as the enemies has 1 point of Defence the Trollshaw Scouts basically has 3 Attack.

Flame of Anor is a placeholder for upcoming card "Open the Armory": https://images-cdn.fantasyflightgames.com/filer_public/99/09/9909b3bc-ec73-4b6c-8f2f-1f321008fd89/mec60-open-the-armory.png This card is excellent if you don't find Gondorian Shield or Dagger of Westernesse. And if neither of them are found in your top 10 cards, at least you get to shuffle the deck after searching.

Remember that Arwen Undómiel may use her action to throw a resource to Aragorn. It's very handy as it makes it possible to pay for those high cost allies before he is the Steward of Gondor.

Silver Lamp is fantastic on Beregond as it makes it easy to figure out what attack(s) Beorn can safely defend without any risk of getting killed.

Landroval is there for those rare times the Bear ends up with a lot of damage and is in risk of dying. Rarely used, but good to have as a backup.

Dwarven Tomb is mainly used to bring back A Test of Will.

Usually Beregonds threat reduction is enough to keep the threat of this deck in check, but if needed there are three copies of Secret Vigil in the sideboard.

The Erestor deck:

Erestor gets a Song of Travel. Yes that's all. And it's only fair too since he's the reason you always have to throw all those nice cards away at the end of the round.

Arwen Undómiel gets to go To the Sea, to the Sea! (although not just yet), a Song of Wisdom and a couple of Silver Harps.

Círdan the Shipwright gets Light of Valinor, Narya and a Silver Harp.

The Erestor deck is all about priorities.

If you have yet to draw Legolas then focus on getting Gléowine into play to help that deck dig for the Silvas elf. If you do have Legolas in play, then focus on getting Light of Valinor and Narya on Círdan the Shipwright. Ultimately the goal is to be able to use Legolas and Gléowine two times per round and always draw cards for the deck. Make good use of Legolas boosted second attack.

Steward of Gondor is paid for by Círdan the Shipwright when he gets a icon from Narya, and Steward of Gondor goes on Aragorn.

Silver Harp is a key card as it allows you to keep a card in your hand instead of discarding it at the end of the round, or negate Círdan the Shipwrights forced effect after drawing those five cards in the Resource phase. Having more than one of the harps in play makes it really easy to decide what to play and what to save until next round.

Stand and Fight is a nice way to be able to play the allies that are in your discard pile. Just remember that it's a event so you pay for the ally with resources.
