Vicaroth 60

Vicaroth has a newer deck inspired by this one: Defend the Realm

Publishing my current decks, here is another. This deck has seen a nice bit of play since the newest box was released. It has joined in on 3 player games which has taken on the Heirs of Numenor Quests.

  • This is basically a more current version of the Tactics Beregond deck. This deck is about loading free attachments on Beregond including the Spear of the Citadel and Hauberk of Mail. The risk for placing attachments on allies are very little as Bard son of Brand can bounce them back to your hand if you discard that ally. Don't forget to load those Unexpected Courage cards down on Beregond, the more the better.
  • The reason I moved away from the classic design of most decks of this nature if because of both Bard and Hauberk of Mail. Not as potent as Citadel Plate, it is hard to pass up a free attachment that gives a defense and a hit point. You might also see Hauberk of Mail fall on other allies as well, especially those that have sentinel.
  • It is easy to see that this deck works best with the more players are with you. The Sentinel keywords on the allies and Beregond give your friends the ability to focus on questing and attacking while this deck fortifies the shield barrier, 300 style... Just make sure one of your friends are a healer.
  • Lanwyn is a special include. Originally I was using Idraen and even with her increased threat, it wasn't too much of an issue. However, at that time I found that Surge cards were becoming more of an issue than not. So really, either Hero fits in that slot perfectly, depending on the quest you are playing against.
  • The rest is gravy, Well Warned to keep threat under control, Foe-hammer for card draw. Sterner than Steel for shadow cards... and some alternate ways to put quest points on locations to avoid getting "location locked".
  • If you end up running this Solo, 2 Close Call might be needed.
