Wandalf the Gizzard 2413

This is the deck I played against the quests from Over Hill and Under Hill (solo, progression style). I managed to beat all three on the first try.

The deck is a standard dwarf swarm build. The idea is to get a couple dwarves out early so your bonuses kick in. An ideal starting hand contains Fili and We are not Idle, and maybe Cram. Then with your accelerators (Steward, Legacy), you flood the board with allies that will be boosted by Dain. Cram, Durin's Song, and Sneak Attack/Gandalf help survive the early game before you have a big board of allies. Narvi's Belt is crucial to grant access to Test of Will, Battle Master, and Will of the West. Lure of Moria and leftover Gandalfs should be more than enough to close out tough games.

There are quite a few options in the sideboard if you feel the deck is lacking something. AVGT, Will of the West, and the extra dwarves can be slotted in to make for a faster growing board with a higher ceiling. The other Leadership attachments are used if necessary to boost your characters' efficiency. The treasures are always a nice addition.

For We Must Away, the general strategy is to turtle on stage one until your board is more than ready for the three trolls. Ideally, your threat is low enough to engage and deal with them one-by-one. I always try and wait for the Troll Key to discover the treasures. Roast-em, Boil-em and Wind-whipped Rain can cause problems, but Hardy Leadership and Test of Will are there for a reason. Dori is also available in case of emergency.

In Over the Misty Mountains Grim, the early game can pose quite a problem with a Stone Giant sitting in the staging area; but these dwarves are scrappy! Gandalf will hopefully pitch in with taking the Giant down, and it's a down-hill battle from there.

Dungeons Deep can pose the biggest challenge for this deck, because of that quests randomness. Thankfully, this deck can handle two encounter cards each round from the Lake in the Cavern until Bilbo has enough resources to consistently solve riddles. Hiding in the Trees can cause problems, though. 3x Will of the West is an auto-sub-in for this quest.

That's all. Thank's for reading, and please leave any feedback you have!

This deck crushed For We Must Away (along with your advice), although I did substitute Nori for Dain in order to keep my threat low. Thank you!
