Improved version of the Beorn's Fortune deck https://ringsdb.com/decklist/view/12184/beornsfortune-1.0

TIP : replace Vassal of the Windlord with Steward of Orthanc for a more consistent drawing, ressources smoothing + shenanigans with Stand and Fight

Purpose The goal of the deck is to play Beorn in solo, mainly. I really enjoy that hero, the way he is constructed, and the brutal power he brings on table turn 1.

I chose to accompagny him with representants of Imladris : Arwen and Glorfindel, adding questing power plus nice spirit tools and shenanigans to the picture.

History This deck was first built with Prince Imrahil, to replace Beorn when the big bear is back healing his wounds in the carrock, and to help Elves to gather ressources for "Fortune or Fate". In a dozen games, Imrahil produced the amazing grand-total of one ressource, plus i never had problem to play "Fortune and Fate" when needed. I sent him back to outlands and called Treebeard instead, a choice I never regretted since. The game gained in fluidity and rythm.

A word about ressources management Actually, the deck is calculated to cost 3 spirit ressources for 1 tactic ressource, wich is conveniently what the heroes produces in one turn. But well, you know, the statistics lie often, and you'll sometimes have spirit ressources to spare but only tactics cards to play, or vice versa. This is why you'll find a Stand and Fight and Steward of Orthanc (or A Good Harvest) in the list. I really enjoy how this cards ease the ressource management and never find it a burden in my hand.

The deck is quite simple and malleable : you can easily adapt the list to your own preferences without breaking it's mechanic.

Pro/cons

PRO's : Beorn ! Strong turn 1, pretty solid when a bit installed, good flexibility, have his chances against most quests. Stand&Fight shenaningans !

CON's : not specifically designed for multi but adaptable (replace Close Call by Beorn's rage, for example), fragile allies, middle game might be weaker if you lack Elven-light.

Nice deck. I gave it a spin through Escape from Umbar and had a good game. Beat the Southron Champion and won the game without losing Boern once. My hand did fill up with a lot of events. Is that your experience as well?

@The BGamerJoe Thank you for your test and your feed-back. In relatively easy quest, the heroes are almost strong enough to manage the quest by themselves (wuth a bit of help from allies) : in these, you will less rely on the events. In harder quests, things are a bit different.

TIP : you might use Steward of Orthanc (in place of the A Good Harvest) to reinforce the impact of the events you play. It will although smooth the ressources management and help a bit with the quest.
