Warden of Arnor 5754

A combat deck based around the engine of Thranduil -> Silvan allies -> The Elvenking -> Éomer/Prince Imrahil.

Can get additional action advantage as well out of Naith Guide and Greenwood Archer. There's a certain amount of potential nuances to the timing of when you play allies (in particular the Archer) and return them to hand for the boosts, whether you can use their while they're still in play, etc.

Hey, I have 3 questions:

  1. What do you think about playing Celeborn instead of Thranduil? What is the biggest advantage of playing Thranduil - giving access to Galadhrim Minstrel, better defense/threat or being able to play Silvans during combat?
  2. We Are Not Idle? I don't get something...
  3. What do you think about Captains of the West for more action advantage/quest power?

A very good deck, but I have a question: Why didn't you put the new card: Host of Galadhrim in this deck ?

@Neoptolemos I'll answer the questions anyway:

  1. It's a bit of everything - not needing sphere matches enables the Minstrel but also means I don't have to worry about sphere balance of my resources, he's a better defender, and the timing is significant for Greenwood Archer and Marksman of Lórien.
  2. It draws a card.
  3. Doesn't really fit as the deck is mostly focused on combat rather than questing.

@ArGu123: It's expensive and a lot of the time wouldn't do that much for this deck because it's not reliably going to have that many allies in play to retrigger. Plus Naith Guide and Galadhrim Minstrel are the only ones who'd reliably be useful to retrigger in the Planning phase.

Nice deck! I think that We Are Not Idle should be swapped with Campfire Tales though 'cause this deck doesn't seem to have problems with leadership resources and you will be giving your buddies an extra boost as well.

I think there's still potential for resources to be a limiting factor if Steward doesn't turn up on time, but you make a valid point.
