SPOILERS FROM THE LAST PACK!

Proxy -- Aragorn for Spirit Aragorn Proxy -- (MotK) Anborn for Haleth Proxy -- Kahliel's Headdress for Thorongil

So I took the advice of Caleb and gave Spirit Aragorn a shot. I built the strongest Scout deck I could, utilizing Legolas for when I don't have courage yet. With Reforged, I don't have to worry about holding onto necessary attachments (and discarding Steward of Gondor is the only way to play it). Haleth is made hero so that we can start churning out attachments.

You really need to mulligan for Unexpected Courage, and Light of Valinor certainly is welcome for Legolas. I've also noticed we like Stone of Elostirion because it pulls in a location and will eventually get Aragorn to 4 WP to get the most out of his ability in most cases.

Scouting Party is one of the best cards for this deck, as it pushes at least 6 more willpower in when you are questing with all the heroes, more if you have some allies in. This deck struggles a little bit with combat, but hopefully you can get a couple of courages on Aragorn.

And my conclusion? Either this deck is missing some element for Aragorn, or he really is not that good. The issue is that to get the most out of Aragorn he NEEDS a courage. However, the courage does not make him multi-phase hero; he is still restricted to the quest phase. Unless you want to burn a card with Legolas or can get Leather Boots on him.

7 attempts at into the pit were wrought with failure. I switched to The Oath (slightly harder than Mirkwood) and it won. The follow up quest ended in failure. I am a bit shocked, as most decks I test can at least survive Into the Pit but this deck couldn't even get past the first quest card. I usually had 2-3 courages on Aragorn for most games, as you can mine through the deck pretty quickly with Haleth and Stone. But even then, I was hurting for readies with him. One quest, one ability, one defense takes two courages. Plus your threat starts getting up there fairly quickly with 12 starting threat.

I've given him a chance, and I will say he is not worth it. Please let me know if there is something I am missing here.

i think its hard to make a potent deck with the scout-trait. it can be a nice addition, but mainstrategy scout, seems not potent enough for me, even with spiritaragorn.

in multiplayer and with heavy use of scoutingparty, there i see potential as questingdeck (play the party nearly every round) but that needs a different deck.

if you stil want to improve your deck, i would take 3 thorongil, 3 steward and 1 celebrian stone, also bahrirs ring and consider his horse and the broken sword. then it mutates to a aragorn-scout-deck. 1-2 drinking songs can help to get your setup.

Yes, going MotK is the proper use of Haleth. Damrod, Mablung and Haleth in a trap deck would also work, or Haleth, Haldan and X.

I didn't think about his ring, thats actually a good call. Extra thorongils for coregorn, loregorn, tacticgorn, or legolas?

I was a bit concerned about bringing too much purple (for sword or mount) but I suppose with reforged its doable.

Thorongil is a unique card, so you can't play the extras, unfortunately. All they'd do is increase the consistency. Up to you whether the Thorongil effect is strong enough to warrant trying to increase its consistency.
