I've tried a wide array of decks trying to make a Na'asiyah deck for 1 hand solo play. I think I've finally found a shell that works. I also like that I didn't see this combo of heroes in a published deck.
Na'asiyah requires lots of resources so Denethor, Steward of Gondor and Resourceful. Those two heroes are 16 threat, needed to find either Lore or Spirit MotK Hero under 5 threat and ideally with 2 HP. It didn't leave a big list. List of low threats
I tried (MotK) Bilbo Baggins and spirit but didn't like the other allies so I went with (MotK) Gléowine instead. I think replacing Lore with Spirit could also work but I didn't find a setup I liked. I also tried (MotK) Halfast Gamgee and cheap hobbits in place of Denethor but really missed the defender.
With this setup
- Denethor is the defender with just enough attachments to tank dragons.
- Na'asiyah attacks like a machine and can backup defend.
- (MotK) Gléowine draws cards for only 3 threat.
- Timely Aid, A Very Good Tale and Herald of Anórien quickly dump allies.
- Galdor of the Havens and Erestor combo nicely. I have finished a few games without any cards left to draw. They also don't require exhausting to use the abilities and dump extra unique cards.
- Without spirit, the deck is lacking some questing power. Since the decks quickly adds allies, Faramir gives it a big boost.
- No A Test of Will or Hasty Stroke means having to use more conditional options; Dúnedain Watcher and Dúnedain Lookout. There is help with treachery protection but I have't tried it yet, noted in the sideboard.
- Threat Reduction is handled with Sneak Attack and Gandalf. I use the thread reduction option 95% of the time.
- Before Denethor is set up to defend, Gaffer Gamgee stop an attack so Na'asiyah can counter attack for lethal.
Sideboard
Cards used
- Armored Destrier: Rarely have 2 things living with Na'asiyah crushing everything.
- Firefoot: Again, I've rarely needed the damage spill-over.
Treachery Help
- The One Ring plus The Master Ring seems really strong, especially starting at 19 thread and the extra card in hand.
- Halfling Bounder requires a side quest but could work really well when setup. More bodies for questing doesn't hurt either.
Either seem worth exploring and wouldn't take too much deck space. Gaining Strength and Dúnedain Lookout seem like the best cards to replace.

Aug 05, 2020I should add warhorse to the sideboard. I've been playing a lot of Ered Mithrin, so mostly I've been defending and attacking single large allies. Quick Strike has been great for killing stuff before I have to bother defending it. Magic ring is another interesting one. Resource generation and healing are already pretty good in the deck. That leaves readying, and maybe needing to add 1 resource to get that extra +2 needed to kill an enemy. |
Aug 05, 2020I get the (MotK) Gléowine thing, but there is NO commiting power on this team! I see your Faramir thing, but I can't stand relying on drawing the right cards. personally, I would add Firyal. |
Aug 05, 2020Still though, you deserve a like. Everything else about this deck is great. Plus, my opinion is to switch out (MotK) Gléowine, but I understand the card drawing thing. |
Aug 05, 2020Thanks for the comments. There isn't a big list of MotK allies 4 or under for secrecy. Resourceful and Timely Aid are great. Getting to draw an extra card every round for 3 threat feels like cheating. The 2nd hit point has come in handy when I've gotten greedy and used it during planning had to take a damage for being exhausted. Timely aid and A Very Good Tale each dig 5 more cards. Faramir will show up but early on a lot of allies the table with all the mustering. Most of the allies don't require exhausting for the abilities to work so they just quest most turns anyway. With all the resources getting Erestor, Galdor or Faramir into play from your hand isn't too bad either. The more I've played the deck the more I think, Erestor and Galdor make the deck run. Galdor needs either Erestor or Protector of Lorien but still has nice stats. Getting both Elves in play is a Daeron's Runes every round. I've decked myself often enough to wish I had Will of the West. Firyal is a great option. I'm not really sure why I forgot about the scouting Harad. I agree that the weakness is questing. The deck is weaker against locations but really good at keeping the staging area enemy free. |
Aug 05, 2020why the warden of helms deep? |
Aug 05, 2020Without Hasty Stroke, sometimes it can be risky to defend with Denethor early on. If I don't have enough armor or I am worried about a 3 or 4 power attack and a shadow card wrecking a hero with Steward or resourceful. Denethor can play him turn 1 if I feel the need for non-hero 3 defense ally. Also, 3 power is a decent return on 2 cheap allies from a very good tale or if I dont need the added defense, 3 is great to power AVGT. Im running a lot of allies so that timely aid and AVGT give some choice. Using a decent amount of allies that have abilities that are still available while exhausted or might be situational (warden being on of them early on if I dont need a defender) which can also power AVGT. |
Aug 06, 2020as defender, hm... everything, that kills denethor kills the warden. 3 res for a chumpblockng sounds much for me. cost of 3 for tale is right, but than you can take the ered luin miner. he cost 3 and you have a very good chance to get him free with a tale. and an attack that is to heavy for denethor can he take. playing him if you get him on the hand is easier as the warden |
nice hero-setup. what about warhorse or magic ring? i would at least take 1 armored strider, either for her if she defends, or for denethor.
