This is a fun experiment based on trying to make a Grey Wanderer deck solely with the cards found in the Core Set. I have beaten Passage Through Mirkwood and Journey Along the Anduin with this deck. Wish me luck on Escape from Dol Guldur! /s
For the sake of sanity, I am assuming 3x of the Core as this project is limitation enough already.
Starting attachment is Horn of Gondor. (My playgroup plays with setup just starting with the attachment in play. Being able to whiff is bad game design)
Changes:
-1 Faramir
+1 Stand and Fight

Dec 04, 2020Nice job! I like it! |
Dec 05, 2020Nice deck and cool idea. I would really recommend using Protector of Lórien (especially since it can be fetched by the contract as the starting attachment, right now there is no attachmente eligible) so that you have a much needed Defense boost and a way to discard cards any time you want, so that you can take advantage of the Spirit icon provided by Celebrían's Stone to play Stand and Fight whenever you want, possibly also recycling it with Dwarven Tomb (this can be especially valuable by bringing a Snowbourn Scout in play during the quest phase after having revealed a Brown Lands, or to make a chump-blocker on demand). I would consider taking out the Lórien Guide to do that. Also a couple of Daughter of the Nimrodel to avoid having to use the contract too much could be useful. So perhaps: -2 Lorien Guide -1 Northern Tracker -1 Veteran Axehand -1 The Galadhrim's Greeting +1 Protector of Lorien +2 Daughter of Nimrodel +1 Stand and Fight +2 Dwarven Tomb |
Dec 06, 2020Good suggestions! I am definitely going to add Protector of Lórien and the last Stand and Fight as that is a nice bit of synergy! |
Fantastic idea!!
