Of the contracts I have found Council and Burglar’s Turn to be the most difficult to build around. I have also never tried a true hobbit deck before so here is my combination of those efforts.

Right off the bat I went for the recurring events combo of Noiseless Movement, Swift and Silent, Courage Awakened and Rumour from the Earth. So ideally any of these 4 in my opening hand is ideal. You can use the events for card draw, resource smoothing or to help keep your threat down to keep the event chain going. other key mulligan cards are Red Book of Westmarch and Steward of Gondor to help fuel the deck. Gaffer Gamgee is the ally I most like to see since he can really help out against those higher attack enemies that can destroy squishy hobbits. Resourceful and Timely Aid are a couple more nice to see cards in the opening hand.

As for the hero choice Sam is key for defending the surprise engaging enemies that can pop up in some quests while still being able to quest with all three heroes. Frodo is there for emergency defending if the attack is too high and Folco is a slightly more expensive Smeagol without the restrictions of having to ensure your hero doesn’t turn on you.

All in all a pretty fun deck to play, I put merry in as an alternate hero in the sideboard if you aren’t worried about high attack enemies and would rather have repeatable threat reduction, as he combos awesome with Rumour from the Earth. Dunhere is another interesting option to help take on enemies in the staging area which is where most will be while you are running low threat hobbits.

Interesting take on the contract. I'd agree its among the most difficult to work with for consistency reasons. I do like yoir take on it. Do you find it's consistent? If you never draw Gandalf, who would you say are other targets for Sneak Attack? How about adding Galadhrims Greeting for additional threat reduction? You may be able to save Falco this way in a pinch. Maybe an Ancient Mathom for card draw too?

I haven't downloaded it yet, but do you find yourself drawing enough?

interesting idea, but to get the most of the contract i would put in more events (about 20 at all) in your case, do you really need this much allies? (remember an event either replace itself as card, or refil its cost or reduce your thread, it really hits if you can use all 3 options per round)

at least i would add.

would discard at least the expansive allies like

Thanks for the thoughts guys. @Uruk-guyGaladhrim’S Greeting is another great card and something I had considered then swapped it for Woodsmen’s clearing, less effective but much cheaper. Sneak Attack also works pretty well with Faramir or Gaffer in a pinch. Also it depends, I had one game where I started with almost no events and wasn’t seeing a bunch. As soon as you get one of the four recurring events though you are pretty much set, especially the Lore ones if you get Steward on Falco.

@doomguard I definitely feel you on the events, I had more originally but in testing found that I wasn’t really generating enough of a lasting force, that’s why I trimmed down and brought in some of the heavier allies that you recommend removing. Those guys are great to get for a Timely Aid and/or Elf-stone. I do like A Test of Will but I’m using Firyal as a quasi form of that but repeatable. Hasty Stroke is a good one though as more shadow cancellation is great if you don’t draw the staff. I don’t think I would add in we are not ideal or hidden cache as I want my free events to at least do something like Daeron’s Runes.

It’s a tricky contract to build around though but liking this hobbit version.
