One of my favorite deck types to build is one that brings together the three wizards or the three bearers of the elven rings of power. This deck is my attempt at putting both of those decks together into a thematic White Council deck.

Game Goals The first important decision to make comes from the Grey Wanderer attachment. Obviously Strider is included as a solid choice, but not necessarily the one to go with depending on your opening hand. If you pull Galadriel in your opening hand, it is worth using The Grey Wanderer to attach Song of Kings. Some other options depending on what is in your opening hand include Song of Travel, so you can recruit Glorfindel whenever he ends up in the trash or Protector of Lórien to make sure all the extra cards Erestor provides are always put to good use.

Once your initial hand is setup, your primary goal is to try and get the Gandalf into play as quickly as possible and leave him in play as long as possible. This accelerates the threat meter, but provides a strong boost particularly once you give him Shadowfax, Gandalf's Staff and Narya.

An alternative path is available if Gandalf does not show up immediately with Radagast. While somewhat overpriced (cross your fingers for Timely Aid) Ally Radagast combined with Radagast's Staff make a very useful ally for getting an army of wildlife up and running on the cheap, essentially giving you three resources for any new creature you wish to put into play.

Obviously the attachments to Gandalf and Radagast are a key part of them meeting their full potential. If you end up discarding them early on, you can always Reforged to get them back or Will of the West to reset your entire deck. If you can get Silver Harp down, it also makes saving the key cards easier for later use.

Finally, the other members of the council make strong one turn allies. Galadriel, Elrond and Saruman can all be played multiple times during the game to give your deck the burst of power it needs to get humming.

This is a fun deck to play, and one I've been enjoying for how non standard it is. It's the only Grey Wanderer deck I've tried where my hero really does little questing, fighting or defending. If you have any suggestions I'd love to hear them, but keep in mind i'm a thematic player through and through. Erestor is not the Steward of Gondor, so that card isn't going to show up in this deck.

Very cool! Though Gwaihir's Debt won't work without a unique Eagle. You could dump it for A Very Good Tale, another Giant Bear (those are just too good), or good old Sneak Attack. Also, surprised not to see The White Council in here at least as a 1x!

Another card to consider, which is in-sphere for Erestor, too, is Word of Command, which seems thematic and could help fish out whichever 1x card you need most.

....I'm definitelytely adding in White Council. I think to shuffle a card from my discard pile into my deck, but theme wise it needs to be there. I was tweaking some things and did drop Gwaihir's Debt, but I replaced it with To the Sea, to the Sea! to make it easier to play Glor/Elrond/Galadriel.

My first iteration of this deck had Sneak Attack and A Very Good Tale in it, but I dropped the tale due to the exhaustion requirements. Too many of my allies are out for a round and then vanish, so it often went unused.

Word of Command should deffintately go in here as well. maybe drop an eagle or two for it.

very nice and creative!

have you considered including Treebeard? He is a good Timely Aid and Narya target

Treebeard would be a very good addition to the deck, but breaks the theme a bit too much for me. That being said, this would be a stronger deck if you pull Radagast and beasts and replace it with treebeard and wants.

Yeah, Treebeard is a bit big for the chairs of The White Council.

Your deck is fine as it is except for it's lacking namesake.
