Jtothemac has a newer deck inspired by this one: 99% Strength Fellowship (with ALeP cards)

Here is the reference meme

I really like this deck. I have to say it took an element of bravery to build it with the thought that the ultimate goal is a two hero deck. But with these studs, they do all the heavy lifting for you.

Ultimately, you want to trigger Aragorn with Sam Gamgee and get a chain of stronger attacks. With the right steeds, you will be able to keep the magic going with Aragorn. This deck is very dependent on a few key cards but once it is set up, you are in good shape.

Early game:

Mulligan for Strider and the cheap restricted attachments. I have never not put The One Ring on Sam to start, but in theory, with the right draw I could put the ring on Aragorn instead. Turn one, your goal is to ditch Folco Boffin, who is just dead weight, and only included so that you can start your threat at 18 instead of 20. Plus, he serves as an extra or neutral resource to start the game. About half the time, I can flip the contract round one, since I only need to get 3 restricted attachments into play, and two are reduced by one cost. Occasionally, with a crappy draw, I can keep Folco around to quest for a turn (when I can't get to Strider -- if you can get to Strider, ditch Folco no matter what. Strider gives an action advantage and the missing willpower)

Mid game:

Once you have the willpower boosts and healing with the three hunters, it's all a matter of upgrading your two heroes. Golden Belt help balance the combat boosts of, say, Durin's Axe and Dagger of Westernesse with the much needed readying effects of Rohan Warhorse and Steed of the North. I have found that Sam usually gets the defense and hitpoint boosts. I've really grown to love Ring Mail on him, and I usually hope to get it early so I get the discount. At this point, you'd like to be triggering Expert Treasure-hunter, which was either free with Folco early in the game or able to be played with one of the Song of Wisdom. You'll also want to make use of Ranger Summons which can pull in an ally to help smooth any swarming enemies.

Late game:

Certain quests might marathon you into reaching that 45 threat elimination level (looking at you, return to mirkwood, which took me 10+ times to clear...). In the late game, Gather Information to get your missing card, whether that's Feint, or Thorongil. I've used Thorongil for both Spirit Aragorn for dinking and dunking on locations, but mostly for Loreagorn who can drop you back down to 25 threat.

Believe it or not, resources are not missed in the game, and with Fast Hitch and the steeds, you can usually get enough actions out of your team of 2. What hurts this deck the most are the low threat enemies, which we see often in the core set. That being said, I was able to clear the first complete cycle with this deck, including the dreaded Dol Guldur (lucky bounces), finnicky Rhosgobel, and the threat marathon Return.

There is also no cancelation, so you have to be ready for whatever comes up on the deck. I've thought about including The Master Ring for that purpose, or to replace feint with The Ruling Ring, but I don't want to suffer paralysis by analysis with that first free master card.

Have fun with this deck!

I knew I liked this deck from the moment I saw it. I played it on DragnCards and beat Fate of Wilderland first try.

Thanks @Truck! It's an honor to have you try it.

How do you play the other lore cards if you're ditching Folco in round one? Is the only way Thorongil & Loreagorn, or is there something I'm missing?

Song of Wisdom :-) I can usually get by without it but some back up Fast Hitches or Leather Boots boots in case someone has been exhausted are bonus features, not necessary.
