claudinko 1

claudinko has a newer deck inspired by this one: Are you ready?

This deck is all about readying heroes and allies. Steward of Gondor goes on Aragorn, that can then use one of the extra resources to get ready after questing. Light of Valinor obviously goes on Glorfindel. The 3 heroes alone can quest for 7, Faramir and a couple of allies would make this deck quite good at questing. And, with the sacrifice of a Snowbourn Scout, in the same turn the 3 heroes can attack for 9. Thread reduction, healing and defense are lacking in this deck. Healing is not that necessary, assigning damage to chump blockers is a better option with Prince Imrahil in play. Actually, Imladris can also be used as a chump blocker. When not many cheap defenders are in play, Hama is there to protect the heroes. Thread reduction may be an issue, maybe The Galadhrim's Greeting can replace some of the events. 21 cards cost 0 or 1 resource. 33 cards cost 2 or less resources. Gandalf is used with Sneak Attack. Resource generation might not be a problem.

Version 1.3 With The Galadhrim's Greeting we have some thread reduction. Celebrían's Stone will help Aragorn to play Spirit cards and also compensate the fact that I have reduced the number of Faramir cards, in terms of chances to draw good questing cards. Stand and Fight has been squeezed in as well. What I miss is the capability to do big damage with a single character, in case the attack is restricted to a single character.

I tried this deck a couple of times against Journey along the Anduin. I got two losses. The second game I came close to winning. However, I did not draw any Celebrían's Stone or Steward of Gondor, so my hand was full of Spirit cards that I could not play. Treacheries was quite bad and soon Prince Imrahil was relegated just to attacks, as a single damage from questing or defending would have killed him. Readying capabilities are way too many, Miruvor sat in my hand useless. Next modifications will be: -include some shadow/when revealed effect cancellation -remove at least 2 Miruvor cards and Path of Need

in general, i thik, this deck would be better as mono-ld and denethor instead of glorfindel (and go full gondor, with Visionary Leadership, Strength of Arms,.....) but, that would be a different deck ;)

if you want to play ld-spirit, i would include some Song of Travel and (one of) the best card in the game A Test of Will

Thanks doomguard for debugging my decks! A Test of Will is a must! Unfortunately I do not have the Song of Travel, but I see this as a very nice addition.

The theme of the deck is readying heroes. Glorfindel and the Light of Valinor works beautifully, in this sense. And his low thread level allows me to play Aragorn and Prince Imrahil, without having to engage a hill troll in the first turn.
