Erkenbrand was the card of the day a few days ago, and I never really build with him, so it s done now!
Deck tech

I play the contract The Gifts of Galadriel for many reasons, but essentially because Fast Hitch + Relic of Nargothrond on Erkenbrand.

Lineup : Nob is here to draw each round with his ability (I have 10+ items) and especially the Half-pint to heal Erkenbrand! And his reduction is nice for a few cases like when I play a Dwarrowdelf Axe on Merry. Speaking of him, Merry offer a cool interaction with Legolas (X3 in the deck). And finally Erkenbrand is the tank of the table. With all of its stuff : Relic of Nargothrond, The Day's Rising, Hauberk of Mail, Armored Destrier, Friend of Friends, Fast Hitch.

It s a multiplayer deck (even if it's also solid for solo), so, for the starting hand the importants cards are Legolas and some readying cards like Fast Hitch. It s probably also interesting to Mulligan for a Galadriel.

Red Book of Westmarch go on Nob because lore resources are important to heal (Half-pint, Ioreth, Warden of Healing).

I added 1 Gúthwinë that go on Merry. If I draw it, I may recycle Elfhelm and Deeping Bowman, it's pretty cool IMO.

The Day's Rising brings me also resources, thanks to Honour Guard to safe it and all Erkenbrand's stuff!

I created another version with dwarven shield on him first, but told me that doesnt works because It's a player card (Erkenbrand ability) that makes damage and not the enemy or the shadow. So. With the same reason I decided to exchange the Dwarven Shield by The Day's Rising. And that still doesn't works ? ;"/ |
May 18, 2026i think caleb said, that the cost must be payed, to get the benefit, if you avoid the cost (and the Honour Guard avoid it) then u do not get it. same with Treebeard and damage-cancelling. Close Call or Dori or Vigilant Guard is the same. |

May 18, 2026i am sure. cost: dmg on erkenbrand, benefit, cancel shadow, you do not do the cost, no benefit. the dmg, never reach erkenbrand, if you avoid however. |

i basecially like the idea, what concerns me is the fact that the ability of Erkenbrand is absolut not compatible with The Day's Rising (spending a health for his ability is dmg during the attack, and if using the Honour Guard the ability will not trigger, you HAVE to pay the costs to get the benefit) so i think i would choose a different sentinel-hero, or leave the title-giving attachment
