Designed for multiplayer scenarios with emphasis on playing dwarf allies (twice) and silvan allies (twice).
The deck concept is simple in theory, with Dáin Ironfoot being an exceptional catalyst for The Last Alliance. Utilizing Silvans as the other half made sense since they both have excellent deployment abilities and swarming incentives. The quintessential problem is that Celeborn, who is the ideal counterpart to the deck, is also . The ideal alliance deck would be built using both as Silvan synergy prefers having , , and . Typically, either of the latter can be cut and just sacrifice threat reduction or trade some efficiency on events. The alternative is to run a double scenario with Bond of Friendship which is what has occurred here. Usually, this is inadvisable due to the three turn lifespan players will generally have before losing on threat. As for hero selection, the question of which Silvan hero would be optimal is another contentious question. The only Silvan hero is Legolas, and ironically the only Silvan hero is also Legolas, and since the Silvan options for were far inferior to the dwarves, tactics Legolas along with Nori was the defacto choice. Given that Ori should naturally be able to meet his resource ability given the three starting dwarf heroes, he was added to round out the quartet. This creates a daunting starting threat of 41, and effectively limits the quantity of cards that want to be included by half, but enables some unorthodox synergies in exchange.
The most important card in this deck is Host of Galadhrim, and the deck has a lot of card draw to find it. Dwarf allies have decent deployment abilities, and with Alliances, they can be replayed along with the silvan allies for enhanced value. O Lórien! and Steward of Gondor provide helpful resource generation, although the lopsided hero type count should enable the first few Silvan allies to be played at discount regardless. Outside of the Host of Galadhrim turn, Dain should generally be utilizing the Alliance boon, but holding Silvan allies in hand for short spans is not a bad idea to allow turns where Nori can capitalize on threat reduction for playing Silvan allies. Black Arrow is in the deck to essentially allow Legolas to become Éowyn for a turn and delete an enemy. Dwarf Pipe should mitigate the effects of King Under the Mountain (which exists in part to discard Ered Luin Minerand Hidden Cache), and Galadhrim Weaver is exceptional at retrieving events which can then be found in the deck via Galadhrim Minstrelalong with the card draw courtesy of Ori, Peace, and Thought, and Unlikely Friendship. The only healing in the deck is Galadhrim Healer, thus Galadhrim Healer and Galadhrim Weaver are the main targets for The Elvenking and Pursuing the Enemy. Summarily, a deck that attempts to find synergy in amalgamating two frequently used archetypes.
