Heroic traits: and tons of resource generation. Make allies into heroes and buff heroes with allies' abilities.
Keys to success: When eagle allies enter or leave play is critically important to have Gwaihir ready when you need him. If your starting hand isn't either half-full of eagle allies or doesn't contain Treebeard or Radagast, you will want to take a mulligan.
Use the card draw ability of the A Perilous Voyage contract to get Treebeard and Radagast out as early as possible to start collecting resources. Radagast can both help pay for and heal creature eagles. The Sword-thain attachment comes in handy once you flip the contract so one of the two can quest without exhausting
Support of the Eagles can be massively helpful, especially in conjunction with the Eagles of the Misty Mountains stacking eagle allies facedown whenever they leave play. In my first play test of this deck, it was at +4 and +4 .
When attached to Gwaihir, you can boost his attack or defense for an entire phase WITH ranged or sentinel. I also gave him The Day's Rising and Raven-winged Helm for more resource generation and damage cancellation.
The Steward of Gondor and Rod of the Steward can be nice additions as well for more resource generation or card draw.
