A balanced Silvan variant where we drop tactics in favor of Spirit for more questing, utility, and threat reduction.

Very thematic Sylvan that's pretty multiplayer friendly. This deck has decent combat, questing, threat reduction, "when revealed" cancellation, card draw, and healing. Best paired with a deck that can defend well and handle locations.

Mulligan for: Nenya, O Lórien!

Allies don't exhaust to quest the first turn they come out thanks to Galadriel so you can get the most out of Celeborn's bonuses. Either use her Nenya to push a quest, or at the end of your turn for her threat reduction and card draw abilities.

Attach the Mirkwood Long-knife to Haldir of Lórien to boost questing and also be ready for combat. For a big damage boost, use Fair and Perilous on him for a great effect. With no knives, you'll hit for 5, with 1 knife 7, and with 2 knives a whopping 9. Lembas and Unexpected Courage ensure that you can hit with him multiple times to finish off multiple or big enemies.

Celeborn is, of course, in play to buff all your allies, making them able to both quest and participate in combat with Galadriel. If combat help isn't needed, you can play A Very Good Tale to snag more needed allies at the end of your turn. Celeborn makes a good target for the Naith Guide, and any spare Mirkwood Long-knife can go on him for extra questing.

Keep your threat low with Island Amid Perils, Elrond's Counsel, and Galadriel so you can make the most out of Haldir's ability. Use your Galadhrim Weaver to recur your events based on your needs, but often The Tree People is the best target. Greenwood Archer can let you use Galadriel's ability and then her Nenya ability, or if you get lucky you can use The Tree People during combat phase to try to get him out to ready and hero and help with damage.

Sideboard Choices: Cloak of Lórien and Protector of Lórien for battle heavy quests where you need to defend often. Light of Valinor I avoided as I play with a lot of people who already use it, but it's a great card for this deck if solo to throw on Haldir or Celeborn. Gandalf, Sneak Attack were also tempting to include (especially with Sneak Attack being useful for Greenwood Archer and other sylvan allies), but again avoided to ease multiplayer use. If solo, Henamarth Riversong is a great inclusion to prepare for nasty encounter reveals. Master of the Forge is a tempting include to help with card drawing of needed attachments, but was ultimately left out.

Great deck! I have a couple suggestions. With the Mirkwood Long-Knife, Wingfoot might be a fun fit for Haldir. Also, AVGT won't have a high hit rate with only 18 allies.

Good idea! Oddly, I had Wingfoot already in earlier version but somehow when I was recreating it fell through the cracks. Good point about AVGT, as I was adding more events I was pushing out allies to make room.

My probable edit then would be:

-2 A Very Good Tale

+1 Wingfoot

+1 Henamarth Riversong

Added a version 2.0 that has those changes. One other sneaky trick that I forgot to mention as well. If you need a big punch you can use Galadriel/Nenya on Haldir of Lórien and then pop a Fair and Perilous on him. He'll get a huge bonus to his for the phase. If you have Unexpected Courage, or Lembas that means you can smash something to dust (or more than one somethings)

Do you find you need Elrond's Counsel when you've got Galadriel and Galadriel's Handmaiden? I'd probably stick in another Greenwood Archer, another Silvan Tracker and a Mirkwood Runner for a bit more joy with AVGT. I hadn't thought of Nenya-ing Haldír - that's genius! I'll give that a whirl. Thinking of running this against The Woodland Realm next weekend.

Always fun to see another Silvan deck! Unfortunately, the Nenya / Fair and Perilous combo won't work outside the Quest Phase because Nenya is phase-limited. Ran into a similar situation in a Noldor deck I made previously. Not that you need it with 2x Mirkwood Long-knife. You could do it with Hands Upon the Bow, but it's probably not worth dipping into just for the one card.

Yep, the Nenya combo only works if you hold Galadriel back in the quest phase. It's mostly reserved for a anticipated boss enemy if you really need a huge hit.

I enjoyed having Elronds Council in this deck as well, to make use of Haldirs ability for longer. It's so easy to play, I might drop Island Amid Perils before I dropped Council.

This deck was made nearly a year ago, there might be some better cards to be had with the current card pool. Hauberk of Mail comes to mind, to make the Defenders of Naith a bit sturdier. Glamdring for Haldir, subbing out the knives maybe?

Some tweaks would probably improve things, but they need to be tested. Let me know how it works out for you!

Holding Galadriel back still doesn't work, because the ability on Nenya is a "Quest-action" not a general "Action".

It can't be used outside the quest-phase and doesn't last after the quest-phase when used.
