2-IN-1?

what does that mean? well that refers to the idea that this deck can be transformed from a solo deck to a multiplayer deck through the use of the sideboard

HOW?

well in order to do well in a solo environment, a deck needs to be able to quest, handle combat, and it does help to have card draw. well how do we accomplish this? most people say Beravor for those cards, but that comes at the risk of losing the hero for other attributes, i.e. questing or combat. so i decided to use Thurindir, because with his ability you can fetch Prepare for Battle for the card draw, and he will have a base 2 , that gets better after the first side quest, (Prepare for Battle) which he will now have 3.

now, in multiplayer you shouldn't need the questpower Thurindir provides, hopefully if someone else is covering it. this is a great oppurtunity to bring in Beravor, now for card draw arround the table.

What do you sideboard to make the switch?

ideally you wont need these side quests in anymore, so you should drop all three side quests, and bring in Wingfoot, for Beravor and Galadriel to help with resource "acceleration". now if you know the quest has some bad conditions, ex: " weight of the ring" from the black riders, or some heavy archery type affects, then you should pull in Miner of the Iron Hills or Warden of Healing.

strategy:

-look for Steward of Gondor or Heir of Valandil in your opening hand, as well as a couple of allies and Sword that was Broken

-if you have Thurindir grab the side quest Prepare for Battle unless you have it already. if you do, grab Gather Information in order to get any card you dont have that you might need. good examples are if you have either Gandalf or Sneak Attack but not the other grab the other half of that combo. believe me its one of the best combos in the game

-dont grab all the enemies until you are prepared, that can includes having cards like Armored Destrier on Amarthiúl with some Dúnedain Warning or Guardian of Arnor to defend and Fornost Bowman so you dont get swamped

-Sarn Ford Sentry is also a good target for Sneak Attack during combat but is good in planning especially if you can draw at least two cards with him.

-use Dúnedain Hunter to grab a high threat enemy so you can play Secret Vigil to reduce your threat

OTHER CARDS:

-Forest Snare and Feint: these are here for those big enemies you cant defend early on but are forced into those situations, dont waste them on an enemy that doesnt need it

-Dúnedain Watcher and Dunedain Lookout are in this deck because i mostly play nightmare, and some of the worst encounter effects are on enemies and shadows. these are great cards to react to these effects, especially because we dont have spirit

overview:

dunedain is one of the strongest archetypes but also a hard one to build and run. i think i did a good job with this one, but the biggest weaknesses are threat and questing early. but this deck does well and i will update accordingly, enjoy!!

PROGRESS REPORT:

Tested this deck (before update) against the seventh level, to some good success. It was hard at first because I reveled all the can't engage enemies, but with Sword that was Broken I was able to quest through it to get my cards. I stayed engaged with four enemies for most of the game so paying for allies wasn't a problem thanks to Heir of Valandil. It started slow but just ended up a walk in the park after I got my Prepare for Battle in the victory display. Fun Deck!
