threat is a resource, use it

this deck's main objective is to save resources on its allies (mostly) which there are plenty of. we do this with Hirgon and Grima. so now we have an idea but where do we take it, how do we make it worth the effort. if you think about it you will realize ents are in these spheres, and we all know how powerful ents are. so if you dont know, ents are allies with high stats and a cheap cost, but they enter exhausted. this was fairly balanced but what happens if we make the cost of these power allies even less? this makes ents even more insane than they already are! so thats where i took the deck. who was our third hero going to be? i considered a second tactics hero (eowyn) but felt i was missing threat reduction. so i then considered Glorfindel but felt it was underwelming and he didnt really do anything except low startibg threat. with the ents i didnt really need his stats, so i looked for another spirit hero and found Galadriel. she fit perfectly, she has built in threat reduction and card draw which is amazing for the deck. also with a nenya she is resource fixing and insurance if you need hirgon's ability to go off. it also allows us to play a test of will and some more questing allies for the first couple of turns with Grimas doomed.

deck basics

the first couple of turns are very important, and there are some key pieces you want. first you want a defender, which can be found with treebeard, defender of rammas, and derndingle warrior. then you want card draw to keep the deck running and even just galadrials ability works to fill this role. then you want some early questing, which if you havent used grimas ability you can easily play one of the spirit allies. these are key and not hard to achieve. there are multiple options for all of these so this is a fairly consistent way to start a game. oh btw these are types of cards you want to see in your opening hand.

after you get set up play out your ents get the discounts and just build. its okay to turtle a little but it isnt hard to make an ent army quickly. save test of wills for something that could end the game dont be to quick to throw out a test of will. feints are mainly for the early game if your defender is exhausted (probably an ent) and close call is great if you have to take an undefended attack at any point so we have the one copy. i used it in one of my games to save grima from an awful shadow card. its an insurance card which to me grants the one copy. then just ride the deck to victory.

card choices

Resource Smoothing: Grima, Keys of Orthanc, and Nenya

Card Draw: Deep Knowledge, Daeron's Runes, Galadrial, Gather Information(more card fetch but still)

Threat Reduction: Galadrial, Elrond's Counsel, Double Back, Galadrial's Handmaiden

Defense: Defender or Rammas, Derndingle Warrior, Treebeard (you can also defend with any ent ally to get some damage on them for booming ent)

Insurance Cards: Close call, Warden of Healing, A Test of Will, Feint, Nenya

all the cards have a purpose and are selected for a reason so dont worry its not a hard deck to play and its fairly srtaightforward so just have fun with it, any questions or suggestions comment them and i will get back to you when possible

Cool deck! I suppose it's too bad Galadriel's passive doesn't work with the Ents. Anfalas Herdsman?

@Wandalf the Gizzard it does with quickbeam! (Potentially) and I saw no real deck space and the swordsman are really only needed the first few turns so it isnt a huge deal if they get killed but I did consider them. I guess you could cut double back, a keys of orthanc but past that not so sure. Tha is for the comment!

While we're on the subject, Double Back is just so good! Whether it s part of your strategy or not, any deck can spend a round (one threat) to drop it back down by five, for free!

Nice deck, I like the hero combination, looks like it would give you plenty of play decisions.

@Wandalf the GizzardYes Double Back is fantastic, saved my skin many times.
