The Temple of the Deceived - Great win rate

Description

This is a fun and easy quest where you have a grid of 15 locations in play. We played this about 20-25 times with these decks, and only lost once. The games can take a while to play, and Player 1 often ends up drawing most of the cards in his deck.

In general, start or immediately travel to a safe (non-ruins) location, then stay there until you have built up your board state. This will also let you play as many side quests as you can. Once you have a powerful board state, then move forward with the quest. By the time we were getting to the final location, we were questing around 30-50 each round. The main way you can lose is by threat, so threat lowering is important.

Player 1 usually mulligans for Master of the Forge or Light of Valinor. Ideally, you want MotF and Imladris Stargazer in play, which allows you to look for an attachment each round, and then arrange the top 5 cards of your deck. Once you get Vilya and Unexpected Courage on Elrond, this combo is unstoppable, because you can choose which card to draw and which card to put in play via Vilya each round.

The traps or "None Return" get played on the enemy with the "surge" effect, as these two enemies will just keep coming out if you kill them.

Player 1 does most of the questing and location control. Player 2 does all the fighting whenever possible. Player 2 usually mulligans for a resource generating card (Steward of Gondor or Sword-Thain), Armored Destrier, and/or protection for Beregond.
