Angmar Awakened - 3 players
Description
These three decks, built for the “Angmar Awakened” campaign, work in synergy with one another, and each serves a specific purpose: the “Raminghi a caccia” deck focuses on the abilities of Halbarad and Aragorn, which allow you to engage more than one enemy per turn (in addition to granting a -1 defense modifier) and then attack or keep them engaged, thereby activating the rest of Halbarad’s ability (and, in the last two scenarios, Amarthíul’s). These heroes are therefore tasked with attacking and clearing out the setup area. The “Dietro lo scudo di Gondor” deck comes into play to handle enemy attacks, which often have high strength values. Beregond is tasked with parrying most of the attacks he can withstand thanks to his high defense value, which can be increased by as many as three or four points over the course of the campaign. Thanks to his “Sentinel” keyword, Beregond can even parry attacks from enemies engaged with other players; furthermore, with cards that grant him “Prepared” status (like Unexpected Courage, Hold Your Ground!, Behind Strong Walls...), allowing multiple defenses in a single turn, he can become an impenetrable wall for the enemies. Any damage that gets through will be negated by cards such as Honour Guard or Raven-winged Helm. Legolas and Haldir of Lórien, on the other hand, are tasked with providing support during attacks thanks to their “Range” keyword. Furthermore, if he does not engage any enemies during his turn, Haldir can attack directly in the setup area. The last deck, “La luce degli elfi” is designed to support the other two by sending its heroes on quest, healing, lowering the threat level, and canceling the effects of certain encounter cards. Finally, thanks to Beravor, it provides an excellent card-draw engine for all players at the table.
The cards in the sideboard are used to modify the decks as you progress through the campaign (the number to include is at your discretion). By the fourth scenario, it might be advisable to modify the “La luce degli elfi” deck by replacing Éowyn with Galadriel and other more suitable cards in the deck for this hero. As for the Battle of Carn Dum, however, it is necessary replacing Beravor with Elrond, Galadriel with Celeborn (but maybe not), Boromir with Amarthíul, Haldir of Lórien with Faramir and, of course, other more suitable cards in the deck for this heroes.
