Silvan Shenanigans

Description

The Forest trait has received some attention lately with Woodland Courier and Cloak of Lórien and the Mirkwood cycle is full of Forest locations. The goal here is to load up two decks with all the fun Silvan tricks and unleash the elves in their natural habitat.

It was fun to revisit the Mirkwood cycle Nightmare packs and these decks can manage wins against all of them (ok, I didn't bother with Escape for Dol Guldur. Too many bad memories to go there.)

The most fun combo has to be turning a three-willpower-questing minstrel into a four-attacking, two-shield-dropping marksman in the same round via The Tree People all for the cost of 2 Lore resources.

Silvan Tracker was surprisingly disappointing once I learned that he does nothing to help the allies who are almost always one health. He was at his best when there was archery damage to pile on to to Silvan heroes and then it all magically disappeared with help from Elrond.

Conflict at the Carrock was tough and so was Return to Mirkwood. The other quests in that cycle were handled reasonably well.

Overall a really fun tribal pair of decks that can dominate. The only downside is the constant manipulation of stats on allies as they keeping entering and leaving play.
