GrandSpleen 1398

A fun Council of the Wise version of my Bear Trap deck, and part of my mission to create a version of this deck for each contract. This one loses some consistency with fewer traps available, but compensates with events that impact enemy combat performance. And gets a flexible resource/ draw/ threat reduction engine. My favorite Bear Trap adaptation. And my favorite contract.

Bear Trap is a dedicated combat deck and works well in any multiplayer environment.

nice idea.

some suggestions:

anborn, to expensive, u will never pay him, also house of healing.

would take 2 events more. i have also a council of the wise deck and there is never enugh events ;)

would be eagles are coming (yes you have only 1 but no cost and triggers contract and hope rekindled, cost 0 and can be used for horns cry.

perhaps i would add a favour of the valar depnds on testing.

Thanks for suggestions. It was really hard to keep this deck to 50 cards, and in fact, I failed at it (it's 52). Anborn is easier to pay for in this version of the deck than in other versions of the deck, because the contract can generate resources. So, if you need him, you can get him on the 2nd turn after you draw him, assuming 0-cost events of any color in your hand, or any tactics events (sooner than that if you already have some resources on Damrod). Houses of Healing is certainly hard to play, but gets discounted if you manage to get a healer in play, and resurrection for Beorn is a high priority for this deck. Typically I run 3x Landroval, but it's not an option here... this is the next best thing. The Eagles are Coming is a nice idea just to trigger the contract, so it Hope Rekindled. Favor of the Valar is in my typical version of this deck, as the only available and realistic threat reduction for it. However, in this case the contract itself can provide some threat reduction. Putting in FotV means cutting something else, which is a painful decision.
