I wanted to build a deck that was mostly based around the small Harad archetype, which used other cards largely to complement the Harad mechanics.

Mulligan for either The Storm Comes or Steward (bonus points if you can get both in your starting hand!). Attach Steward to Kahliel, and you can play any of your unique Harad allies every other turn. Alternatively, get The Storm Comes in the victory display, and you can play any of those allies or Glorfindel every other turn. Get both Steward and Storm in play, and you can play any of your 5 cost allies every turn! (This is what you should aim for.)

Cirdan gives you your card draw, but at the cost of discarding a card. You can always choose to discard Glorfindel, since you can play him from the discard pile. The sideboard includes Silver Harp, which you can use to block this discard, but I dropped it from the deck, because I hardly ever found myself using it (though it actually works better than Kahliel's headdress when you discard Harad allies, as they return straight to your hand, instead of getting shuffled into your deck).

You should aim to get the three unique Harad allies into play ASAP. And then get Narya onto Cirdan (and ideally Light of Valinor, so you can quest with him and use his ring). If you get Glorfindel into play, that is a bonus, but don't waste resources on him until the unique Harad are in play.

The idea is to quest with Cirdan (if he has Light of Valinor), Eowyn, and all three of those unique Harad allies (if Kahliel has his headdress, all the better) and Glorfindel, then use Narya to ready and boost Jubya and Yazan. (Don't forget to use Firyal's scrying ability when questing!)

You can also ready Glorfindel by discarding one of the many duplicates in this deck, and discard an Harad ally from your hand to ready Firyal (do this before the combat phase, then you can do this again in the combat phase to ready Jubya or Yazan, and the same applies to Glorfindel).

You should have quite a bit willpower for questing, and most of your allies ready for combat!

Southron Refugee is there mostly so you can discard them to ready Harad allies, but also works as an emergency chump blocker. Very occasionally I have used them successfully to get one of my unique Haradrim into play a round early when I was unable to get Steward or Storm out of the deck.

The Tribesmen can be used to boost Jubya's defence or Yazan's attack, but often I will just discard them for more readying.

The Spears go on Yazan (two of them, if you can), and you can always discard them for an attack boost if you need to.

Snowmane and Golden Shield attach to Eowyn. She can then be used to quest and as an emergency defender. These aren't a priority, and I often choose to discard them if the other card drawn is more useful (as per Cirdan's ability). The most important one is Snowmane, this allows Eowyn to be ready after questing, so she can use her ability to attack twice! Exhaust to attack, trigger ability to give her 10 attack, and then she readies and can attack another enemy also for 10.

Quick Strike is there primarily for Eowyn to use, when she has Snowmane, and you want to trigger her ability. She can then get one attack in to finish off an enemy before it can attack, or she can use it to attack a tough enemy twice (perhaps with help from Yazan the second time around).

Gandalf is the deck's only form of threat reduction. Throw in sneak attack if you need more.

This deck looks great. Thanks for the excellent piloting instructions. I have not played Haradrim characters or Cirdan yet, so this will be great for me to get acquainted with those cards. I am going to try it against a scenario or two in the Haradrim cycle.

Don't discount Kahliel’s Tribesman as just readying fodder - with Narya, you can get Jubayr up to 6 .

Tribesman uses his ability on Jubayr (4), both get re-readied with Narya (5), then Tribesman uses his ability again (6). And then Jubayr is available to take another defence or hit back for 5 .
