At heart, this is a direct damage deck. The new Eowyn hero just helps in that she helps keep your starting threat low and gives you not completely embarrassing willpower. Of course, roughly half the questing strength comes from the classic Legolas/Hands Upon the Bow combo to remove an enemy and add a bit of progress. Thalin and the other direct damage affects are there to either soften up enemies for Legolas or to make them dead before they get to attack.

Basic deck need break-down:

Questing- As mentioned above, Eowyn + Legolas form the core of your questing strength. Most of the two-willpower allies end up questing as well.

Combat- Use direct damage and/or Legolas to kill enemies before they get to attack, as the deck is weak in terms of defense. Remind fellow players that if they can take the enemies, that you can help kill them with all your range.

Resources- Lacking. But mono sphere and the most crucial cards being the cheapest ones helps make up for it.

Card Draw- Bofur and Foe-Hammer

Threat Control- Mostly it just starts fairly low and hopes for the best.

My Standard Disclaimer: I don't play on Octgn or at a game store. I play solo or with my friends, who all use the decks that I have built. This means that I try to keep lots of pre-made decks lying around (I have over 10 at the moment). This further means that those popular standards (A Test of Will, Unexpected Courage, Steward of Gondor, Feint, etc) tend to get spread around and mostly my decks aren't perfectly optimized. Rather than post the perfected versions, I've opted to post what actually ends up getting played at my house.

I think if you have the ability to shoot enemies in the staging area, then Quick Strike becomes doubly valuable. I might even ditch Deorwine and/or Watcher of the Bruinen to max out Quick Strikes.

Of course, I'm a big fan of Dunhere + Spear of the Mark.
