Don't worry too much about the higher starting threat. Threat can be reduced through, Gal Greeting, Galadriel, Beregond, Elrond's Counsel, and Galadriel's Handmaiden. The deck can be a fast or slow starter depending on cards. It's worth mulligan so as NOT to have Beorn or Legolas in opening hand, OR, the have Nenya, Vilya, Light of Valinor, or Mirror ... any of the attachments in the starting hand will get the engine working.
Try adding the sideboard for a 60 card version that can be used against longer quests, those with nasty Conditions or if you find yourself running through the deck too fast.
