Paladin 5

B-Unexpected Courage, E-Steward of Gondor)

Strategy: Damage removal is paramount, locking enemies in staging is very helpful, balance the need to move through locations quickly while slowing movement into quest phase 2 until there is an adequate build up of hero resources and cards in hand.

Chump blocking is detrimental to this quest. Errand Rider was only added to move resources among heros. The keys to success are:

When the attachment opportunity arises: Steward of Gondor on Eowyn, Unexpected Courage on Beravor

A most important card to have available is A Test Of Will (it cancels when revealed cards) and Dwarven Tomb to replenish discards.

Use the healing cards to remove damage ASAP. There are debilitating treacheries that can cause an immediate loss.

The coup de gras event card to win the quest will be Astonishing Speed (adds 2 willpower to Rohan characters). Eowyn, West Road Traveler, and Escort From Edoras (the latter card being available only once).

You have definitely discovered what it takes to beat this quest. Kuddos on using that knowledge to build an effective deck. That's one of the aspects that makes this game great!

Thank you. I only started playing with an initial purchase of the revised core set this past summer. Weathered Hills is the most complex quest I played thus far because there is a lot to keep track of during play that one can easily forget. It took me at least five or more playthroughs to remember all of the detail associated with the location cards and the side quests and get comfortable with the flow.

The deck building part of these quests is like a puzzle to select certain pieces in a way that they'll work well together to assemble a successful "fighting scene". The game is not only great it is also very addictive!
