Look upon it and weep. Here it is, my Tardy Take deck for Con of the Rings 2023.
As discussed on this podcast, I only picked cards that Shellin and I discussed at some point on a show found on the Cardboard of the Rings Presents feed (to hear all episodes on the feed, you must be at minimum a $1 Patreon subscriber to Cardboard of the Rings).
The deck is notable in a few ways which I will outline:
1) I have not played this deck and have no clue if it will work; it is meant to pair with this deck. The extensive sideboard will maybe help it suck less?
2) This is an alt art deck. Now, I will not spoil the surprise about what the art I featured by posting pics in this description. In fact, I challenge true fans of the show to guess what I will have picked for the art and then compare their guesses to the actual cards (which are in a printable form if you lose your mind and want this deck too).
3) Thanks to an offhand joke, I wrote the card text as if I were describing the cards in conversation casually or on the show. Plus, I did it all from memory. So the accuracy of the card text is...suspect. Don't forget to read the insane flavor text too!
4) You may be like "how do you plan on playing this card, you can't make the requirements to play it?" I would reply "You have missed the whole point of the project which was to make insane and funny cards so how could I leave out fan(?) favorite arguments and cards?" This also explains a lot of the card choices that make little to no sense (especially those in the sideboard).
Tardy Takes may have ended, but it will live on forever with the stupid ass deck.
