Glorfindel is totally not boring! (one week later). . .

Wandalf the Gizzard 2414

This is the deck I used to win Foundations of Stone solo, progression style. When I was looking through the encounter deck and quest cards before playing I was feeling a bit wary. However, the power of spirit Glorfindel was not to be denied! Imladris Stargazer is probably the best card to see in your opening hand.

The general strategy is to take it slow on stage one, building up your forces. Burning Brand, Arwen, Forest Snare, and the Wardens of Healing can keep Aragorn alive until Glorfindel (with some help from Gandalf) gets around to killing the enemies. Once you have Light of Valinor out and have built a reasonable board state, it’s time to advance. By this point, none of the stage fours should pose much of a challenge.

The deck seeks to cover all the bases of the game and simply be more powerful than the encounter deck. It does so quite well. It sports resource gen., card draw, combat capability, high willpower and location control, cancellation, and readying. Once you have a couple key cards down, there isn't much the quest can do to knock you of your throne.

It would probably do quite well against a variety of other quests.
