This is my version of a solo Leadership Eomer deck. While using Galadriel (and potentially Herugrim) is a great option, I wanted to try something different using Spirit Merry instead. I've built this very close to how I would approach a solo Fastred deck, with Tactics Eowyn providing low threat and easy access to weapons. However, this of course is a tri-sphere deck, which makes things a bit more tricky. Some notes on how to pilot the deck:

  • You are looking for at least 1 weapon in your opening hand. Mulligan if you don't see one. Generally, with 6 copies of weapons in the deck, you have a good chance of seeing at least 1. Keep in mind that Unseen Strike helps with boosting attack power, especially before you have all your weapons.
  • Merry might be needed to quest in the early game before you get your questing allies out. However, once you have Hobbit Pony or enough questing power, feel free to hold him back so that he can help keep your threat low and keep enemies in the staging area. You can even throw an extra Dagger of Westernesse on him later in a game once Eomer is loaded up.
  • The one main weakness of this deck is card draw. Foe-hammer is the main help in this regard...as long as you draw it. I've also included A Very Good Tale to help get out allies that are in the deck and to help thin the deck as well.
  • So what happens if an enemy gets to grips with you? If you have Terrible to Behold, you can use that to cancel the attack and send the enemy back to the staging area, and Eomer can destroy it next turn. Otherwise, you'll probably have to chump an ally, take it undefended, or defend with Eomer.
  • Another potential weakness of the deck is archery and direct damage, thanks to those squishy 1-point Spirit allies. Without lore, I don't have access to healing, so I've included Honour Guard instead to help cancel some of that damage.

That's about it. Enjoy!
